Carolina Marin secured a spot in the BWF World Championships 2023 semi-finals with a straightforward victory over Tai Tzu-ying, taking just 50 minutes to win 21-16, 21-14 in Copenhagen. This sets up a clash in the last four against reigning champ Yamaguchi Akane. Despite Tai having a slight edge in their previous 19 encounters with a 10-9 lead, Marin’s strategic surge before the first mid-game interval propelled her to an 11-6 lead.

Tai’s Resilience and Marin’s Conquest The second game kicked off with Tai Tzu-ying displaying a stronger start, attaining a 6-2 lead. However, Carolina Marin, a remarkable three-time badminton world champion, recaptured her rhythm and narrowed the gap to a single point by the interval.
